2007-2008 YOUTH EVENTS
Jr. High World Changers:
Jr. High youth (7-8). June 14 - 21. Location - Augusta,GA. Cost: $110.00. Sign-up begins on Sunday, January 20. Deposit of $40.00 due on Sunday, January 27. Balance due on Sunday, May 18. This is a challenging time of mission work through World Changers. All students who attend this trip must maintain a 75% attendance average in Sunday School, Cross Training, and Youth Choir.
Columbus Backyard Bible Clubs:
Sr. High youth (9-12). June 16-20. Location: Sims Scott Park, Columbus, MS. Cost: Free.
Students need to be at Fairview each morning by 8:00 a.m. and picked up by 11:30 a.m. At this time, our Sr. High youth offer Backyard Bible Clubs for local children. All students who are going on the Sr. High Mission Tour are required to participate in this event (those unable to participate must clear it with Kenny prior to the event).
Sr. High Mission Tour:
Sr. High youth (9-12). July 5 - 11 (tentative) Cost: $125.00. Sign-up begins on Sunday, June 1. Deposit of $20.00 due on Sunday, June 15. Balance due on Sunday, June 29. Mission Tour is a challenging time of living out the Christian faith while ministering through Backyard Bible Clubs and nightly revival services. All students will participate through leading Backyard Bible Clubs each morning and singing in the youth choir each night. Students involved in puppet, clown, and drama ministry will also perform during the week. All students who attend this trip must maintain a 75% attendance average in Sunday School, Cross Training, and Youth Choir.
Christmas in Disneyworld! (tentative)
December 19 - 23. This trip is for senior high students, families, and any junior high students who have an adult chaperone with them (any adult willing to take responsibility for you). EMAIL KENNY if you are interested.

See You At the Pole Rally:
All youth. September 26. 6-7:30 p.m.
This is a youth rally to celebrate See You At the Pole. All youth who attend Priority Youth Service will be transported to the Trotter Convention Center. This event is free.

Fall Retreat:
All youth. November 17-19. Cost: $45.00. Sign-up begins Sunday, October 15. Deposit: $20.00 due by Sunday, October 28. Balance due by Sunday November 11. Speaker: Alan Burchfield. This is a retreat to Lake Forest Ranch (Macon, MS). It is a wonderful time of teaching and spiritual renewal.
Youth Christmas Musical:
All youth choir members. Sunday, December 2. Dress Rehearsal: Thursday, November 29.
The youth Christmas musical is a presentation of music and drama presented by the youth choir. All youth choir members participate.
2007 Student Celebration Conference:
Sr. High youth (9-12). December 27-29. Cost: $80.00. Sign-up begins Sunday, October 7. Deposit: $25.00 due by Sunday, October 21. Balance due by Sunday, November 4. This conference provides a time of intense discipleship presented by Phil Waldrep Ministries. This event takes place in Pigeon Forge, TN. Conference speakers: Stuart Hall, Thomas Young, Thor Ramsey (comedian), and Jared Hall (illusionist). Conference Worship Leaders: Robbie Seay Band, Relient K, Starfield.
Disciple Now:
All youth. January 11-13. Cost: $20.00. Sign-up begins Sunday, December 9. Deposit: $10.00 due by Sunday, December 30. Balance due by Sunday, January 6. This is an exciting time of discipleship. All youth are grouped by grade and gender into small groups in local homes. They are taught by a small group leader who will give them individual time and attention.
Youth Valentine Banquet
Wednesday, February 13, 6:30 p.m. Activities Building. Tickets are $7, and will be available starting January 20 at the Welcome Center. Speaker: Sammy Knuckles (Memphis, TN) Deadline to sign up: Sunday, February 10.
Spring Break Paintball Trip
Tuesday, March 18. Whitetail Ridge Outdoors (North of Tupelo). See the web site by clicking HERE. All youth are eligible for this trip. Cost is $30 which includes equipment rental, 500 paintballs per person, unlimited air refills, field fees, and lunch. (You are encouraged to bring your own paintball gun, if you have one, because there are a limited number to rent). Meet at church parking lot at 8 a.m. (eat breakfast before you come). Return to church by 7 p.m. Signup begins March 9; fee is due by March 16.
Youth Spring Musical:
All youth choir members.
Date: Sunday, May 4. (Rehearsals: Sundays, 3 p.m. beginning April 6 )
The youth choir and drama team will perform their spring presentation.
Senior High Youth Camp:
Sr. High youth (9-12). May 25 -30. Cost: $150.00. Sign-up begins on Sunday, April 20. Deposit of $20.00 due by Sunday, May 4. Balance is due on Sunday, May 18. Youth camp will be at Laguna Beach Christian Retreat in Panama City. Guest Speaker: Vern Charette. Worship Leader: David Dees.
Jr. High VBS:
Jr. High youth (7-8). June 2-6. Cost: Free. This is a youth VBS offered for Jr. High students during the children’s VBS. We have a great time together of fellowship and study of God’s Word. Also at this time, the Jr. High World Changers study course is offered (required for participation in Jr. High World Changers).
VBS Workers:
Sr. High youth (9-12). Cost: Free. Each year, youth workers are needed to help with children’s VBS. Mission Tour participants are encouraged to work in VBS. If you would like to participate, please contact children’s director Carla Hensley.
