Bro. Mickey is a native of Alabama, where he graduated from Geraldine High School, Snead Junior College, and Athens College. 

He received his Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY. 

He married Carol Tedder in 1969 and they have two children.  Their son Clint and wife, Veronica, live in Brandon, MS, and their daughter, Julie, lives in Columbus

Bro. Mickey has served as pastor of Fairview since 1984.  Prior to Fairview, he was pastor of Moulton Baptist Church, Moulton, AL,  for almost ten years.
